Microsoft Introduces A Studio-Grade “Skype For Broadcasters” Called Skype TX

Microsoft this morning introduced Skype TX, a new version of its video chatting service, Skype, that’s designed for broadcasters. Described as “studio-grade” software offering high-quality audio and video output, the platform provides broadcasters with professional feeds free of distractions, like call notifications and ads, plus API integration, call management features and more.

The new service was built using technology from a longtime broadcast partner called Cat and Mouse, which Microsoft has acquired, the company says.

Skype TX offers HD-SDI video output and input, balanced audio output and input, auto aspect ration conversion, support for multiple, simultaneous calls, operator previews, and more, explains the company via a post published to the official Skype blog earlier today.
