I do see a market for seasoned Blackberry business users, who don’t want all the smartphone bells and whistles but the tangible keyboard they are used to. Not a new blockbuster, perhaps, but demand. – We’ll see!
Did you used to carry a BlackBerry, but have since moved on to an iPhone, Android, or well… pretty much anything else? Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night, pawing at the air for the glorious click of that wideset physical keyboard?
As we first noted back in October, BlackBerry has been working on a “Classic” handset that mixes the best of many worlds: the keyboard that once helped them rule the mobile world, a form factor that once proved wildly successful for them, modern (if mid-range) specs, and the most recent version of the BlackBerry operating system.
It’s called, aptly, the BlackBerry Classic.
Early this morning, Blackberry started taking pre-orders for the device with a launch window of “mid-December”. According to MobileSyrup, the company is aiming for an official launch day of December 17th.
